"Disaster Date" is a mockumentary-style commentary on the minefield that is dating in college. I wore a lot of different hats for this film. I wrote the script and had been a co-director while on set I also captured the audio.
Marissa retells her horrid first date to her friends often switching from the present to the date. I wanted the date to have a dream-like feel to it representing the hopes of a new connection. Marissa often interjects her opinions by looking directly into the camera, bringing the audience into her world.
